Professional Photography Program
Students will prepare and submit the following to Mr. Carlos Molina, Director of the Photography Program, via mail (to the school’s address) or email CMolina2@schools.nyc.gov by early December: An informal portfolio of the student’s work. The portfolio should consist of ten pieces in which the student displays his or her visual sensibility (sense of humor, design, taste). The portfolio can be drawings, paintings and/or photography. All applicants must submit a portfolio; however, if you do not have a portfolio for submission, you may come to the school during one of the audition dates to create your portfolio. *Must be an eighth-grade student or a first-time ninth-grade student to apply.The portfolio should also include the following:
- A letter of recommendation from a visual arts teacher, academic subject teacher or guidance counselor.
- A letter of intent from the student that explains the reason for the application and the nature of the student’s interest in photography.
The Digital Photography Program at Abraham Lincoln High School wins the 2019 Joy of Giving Something (JGS) Grant. The program received a five thousand dollar grant to upgrade photography equipment.
Due to COVID-19, all in-person auditions have been postponed indefinitely.
