Jerome Karle (Class of 1933) June 18, 1918 – June 6, 2013
World-renowned chemist who was awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1985 for the direct analysis of crystal structures using X-ray scattering techniques.



Arthur Kornberg (Class of 1936) March 3, 1918 – October 26, 2007
Pioneering biochemist who won the Nobel Prize in "Physiology or Medicine" in 1959 for his discovery of "the mechanisms in the biological synthesis of deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA).
