May 2022 - Update on Alumni Association’s Annual Homecoming Reunion/Open House for 2022
To all members of the Lincoln Family:Fred Newman, President of the Abraham Lincoln HS Alumni Association (Brooklyn, NY) “Catch the Lincoln Spirit!”
[Please share this with other Lincoln Alumni. It has also been posted on Facebook.] Unfortunately, due to COVID and all of the mandates, I decided not to have the Alumni Association’s Annual Homecoming Reunion/Open House for 2022. This isn’t an event that can be thrown together at the last minute and since there are still many concerns in regard to group gatherings, I felt that I needed to remain cautious.❤️💜 Take care and stay safe,Alumni Association
For nearly a century Abraham Lincoln High School has been a leader in New York City education. Lincoln alumni have distinguished themselves in every imaginable field, including music, sports, and science. Among our notable graduates is music legend Neil Diamond, who generously funds a college scholarship for graduating seniors every year. Other distinguished alumni include countless professional athletes and three Nobel laureates in science and medicine, Arthur Kornberg, Paul Berg and Jerome Karle.

Message from the President of the ALHS Alumni Association
To all members of the Lincoln Family:
I hope that you and yours are well. Sadly, if you have lost a member of your family or a friend, please know that we send our sincere condolences. We are sending you our “Lincoln Spirit” to support you during this Global Health Crisis.
I know that this year’s Annual Homecoming Reunion is scheduled for Sunday, May 3rd, 2020. Unfortunately, based on the current COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Pandemic, I have no alternative but to CANCEL this year’s Annual Homecoming Reunion.
I waited as long as I felt that I could, but based on all of the reported information, plus practicing Social Distancing, having to wear masks, no large group gatherings, and the fact that school buildings are closed, this was the only responsible decision that I could reach.
I have been the President of the Lincoln HS Alumni Association for 30 years. I know that I and many other Lincolnites were looking forward to this great event, but anything other than canceling it would have been irresponsible. I hope that there will be a day in the “not too distant future” when we will be able to enter the main doors on Ocean Parkway in order to revisit our "youth."
***CONGRATULATIONS to the Class of 1970 on celebrating its 50th Anniversary of graduating from Lincoln!***
Please share this with other Lincoln Alumni who are and aren't on Facebook!
Until we are able to meet again, I hope that you are able to stay safe and maintain your “Lincoln Spirit!”
Thank you,
Fred Newman
